Eagles Hold Off Odessa Permian 28-22

The Eagles looked to be in control in the first half taking a 14-3 lead into the locker room.  They then scored on their first possession of the second half taking a 21-3 lead in the third quarter.  But the Permian offense came alive making the score 28-22.  They got the ball back with just a few minutes remaining, but the Eagle defense held on a 4th and 5 with a minute and a half to go, the Eagles then ran out the clock for the victory.  Up next, the regional championship with the winner of the Trinity/Arlington game on Saturday.

Tucker Carter had a great game in his first varsity start.  He was 10 of 16 passing for 199 yards, two touchdowns and no turnovers.  Tucker replaced injured quarterback Matt Brown.

Bradlee Waddell was the Eagles leading receiver with 6 catches for 114 yards and one touchdown.

Allen Stomps Coppell 56-28, Odessa Permian Next

Jeremiah Williams was impressive against Coppell with 200 yards rushing.

Tracey Smith and Nate Bonsu work hard at putting pressure on the quarterback.

Allen to Play Coppell Next

Allen with play Coppell Sat. night at 8:00 pm in Texas Stadium for the area Championship.

Coppell is 8-3 this year.  Their claim to fame this year is that that beat South Lake Carroll in a wild double overtime game 57-53.

Coppell is lead by QB Konner Joplin who has 135 completions in 235 attempts with three interceptions and 19 touchdowns.  Joplin's top targets are Jordan Tollet and Jaxson Shipley with 48 & 56 receptions respectively.  Jordan has 13 TDs.  Joplin left the game Sat. in the second quarter with a leg injury and did not return.  However his backup went 11 for 11.

Coppell has the 6th ranked offense in the area with 419 yards a game compared to Allen's 394 yards per game.  Neither team is ranked in the area's top 25 defensivley.  So maybe we can conclude we'll see the ball in the end zone alot.

Jeremiah Williams runs around the left side.  Jeremiah had a great game and was named one of the Offensive Players of the game.  He scored three touchdowns and combined for more than 160 yards rushing and receiving.

Eagles Win District Title Again, and Again and Again

For the third year in a row Allen goes through district play undefeated.  The Eagle's wrapped up the title, Friday night, by defeating a very tough Wylie team, 31-28.  The next challenge for the Eagles is South Grand Prairie at Mesquite's Memorial Stadium next Friday night at 7:30.
