The Eagles easily defeated Plano West 37-14 Friday night. The offense looked pretty good, but the defense continues to be outstanding. Matt McBride, Steven Terrell and Jeremy Reeves all had interceptions. McBride returned his for a touchdown. The offense was lead by Matt Brown with 241 yards passing, Jeremiah Williams had 90 yards rushing on 10 attempts and Dakarai Pecikonis hauled in 2 touchdown passes.
Matt McBride celebrates after returning his interception for a touchdown.
Kimbrough Stadium looked like a home game for the Eagles as the Allen side easily outnumbered the West side.

The Tom Charles "Eagle of the Week" is a short feature that I want to do each week. It will be simple and short. It is designed to give you a little insight into the students that we enjoy watching each week. It may be a coach, trainer, cheerleader, a student-athlete or perhaps even an adult volunteer that contributes so much to Allen athletics. For students I want to limit this to Seniors.
So onto our first Eagle of the Week.

The Eagles fought hard, played hard and should have learned that they "can" play with a team of Trinity's status. Eliminate a few mistakes and the outcome could have been different. But Trinity hung tough, came away with the victory, and I'm sure some respect for the Eagles. Maybe we can have a rematch down the road.
Tuffette prances around before kickoff.
Hundres of Allen Students unite for kick off.
Steven Terrell hits a Trinity running back hard.
The offensive line was named one of the "Players of the game".
Jeremiah Williams gains valuable yardage.
The cheerleaders encourage one of Allen's largest crowds.
Coach Cade Smith instructs the Defensive Backs while the offense is on the field.

Anxiously waiting for tonights game against Trinity. Less than 2.5 hours until kick off.
Win or lose it should be interesting . Eagle stadium will be a crazy place tonight, lots of people and lots of media (I guess some of the media are people too!). The sideline will not be a friendly place to be tonight - I'm sure there will be lots of people on the sideline getting in our way. But 'm sure it will be fun anyway. Probably be a playoff atmosphere, even thought it really means little in the big picture. The important games start next week.
Oh, anyway, regarding the headline. The first "parent" to call the studio Monday (9-22-08) between 9:15 and 9:30 am will win a free 11x14 inch photograph from any football game image we have posted. Our studio clock is the official time. Don't call early, don't call late. You must call during the specified time and you must know the image number when you call. Good Luck.

Allen dominated Rockwall Friday night, although the 24-6 score did not indicate it. The Eagles kept trying to help Rockwall out with 4 turnovers. They will need to tighten up the ship when they face Trinity, the nation's number one team, next week. The defense has been impressive so far this season.
