The Eagles are one their way to Houston to meet Ft. Bend Hightower in the Texas 5A Division I state Championship game. The Eagle buses rolled out at 8:45 am. The street near the facility was lined with fans cheering them on as they headed down the road. Excitement and emotions were running at a high level. I saw more than a few tears as the buses rolled down the street. See you at Reliant. I hope to post a few pictures after the game, if the Hotel Wi-Fi works tonight. Good Luck Eagles.

Allen surprised the No.1 team in the state and country, Euless Trinity, 34-21. The Eagles pretty much dominated the game, but Trinity made it a little interesting at the end with a quick touchdown and then recovered a great onside kick to make us a little nervous there for a while. The offense, defense and special teams all shined in a great total team effort. Next up, Round Rock Stony Point in the state semi-finals.
Eagles hoist the Regional Championship trophy.

The Eagles looked to be in control in the first half taking a 14-3 lead into the locker room. They then scored on their first possession of the second half taking a 21-3 lead in the third quarter. But the Permian offense came alive making the score 28-22. They got the ball back with just a few minutes remaining, but the Eagle defense held on a 4th and 5 with a minute and a half to go, the Eagles then ran out the clock for the victory. Up next, the regional championship with the winner of the Trinity/Arlington game on Saturday.
Jeremiah Williams scores the Eagles first touchdown on a pass from Tucker Carter.
Jeremy Reeves and Matt Edwards stop a Permian rusher.
Tucker Carter had a great game in his first varsity start. He was 10 of 16 passing for 199 yards, two touchdowns and no turnovers. Tucker replaced injured quarterback Matt Brown.
Bradlee Waddell was the Eagles leading receiver with 6 catches for 114 yards and one touchdown.
Allen's Coach Westerberg makes a point with the officials, they never understand.

Allen with play Coppell Sat. night at 8:00 pm in Texas Stadium for the area Championship.
Coppell is 8-3 this year. Their claim to fame this year is that that beat South Lake Carroll in a wild double overtime game 57-53.
Coppell is lead by QB Konner Joplin who has 135 completions in 235 attempts with three interceptions and 19 touchdowns. Joplin's top targets are Jordan Tollet and Jaxson Shipley with 48 & 56 receptions respectively. Jordan has 13 TDs. Joplin left the game Sat. in the second quarter with a leg injury and did not return. However his backup went 11 for 11.
Coppell has the 6th ranked offense in the area with 419 yards a game compared to Allen's 394 yards per game. Neither team is ranked in the area's top 25 defensivley. So maybe we can conclude we'll see the ball in the end zone alot.

Allen easily slipped past Jesuit Friday night 49-17. It got a little interesting at the end of the first half due to a couple of mistakes. Other than that the game was really never in doubt.
LaChris Anyiam (#97) and Nate Bonssu (#99) rush the Jesuit quarterback.
Bradlee Waddell heads down the sideline.

I was not surprised that Allen beat Plano, but I was surprised by the score. Who would have thought that the Eagles would score more points against Plano than they did against Monterrey Tech.
And as for the Dallas Morning News prognosticators - don't pay any attention to them anymore. Seven of the Eight picked Plano. HMMMMMMMM. Experts.
The Offense could not have gotten any better. The defense bent a little, but came through with big turnover after turnover. Carson Meger, the Plano quarterback threw his first three interceptions of the year to the grateful Eagles.
You can tell things are going your way, when your only potential turnover of the night (a fumble around midfield) turns into a 50 touchdown run when Bradlee Waddell picks up the loose ball and runs to the end zone. Plano had to be totally demoralized by that one.
The Eagle's need to celebrate, remember what it took, then take care of business the next two weeks vs Jesuit and Plano East. Wylie, the last regular season game of the year looks as though it could be a tough one. And if things work out, we may see Plano again 3-4 weeks down the playoff road.
Dakarai Pecikonis celebrates his fourth touchdown reception of the game. Dakarai has 10 TD receptions on the season.
Cody Milam pass blocks against Plano. Cody was one of four offensive lineman to be signaled out as "Players of the Game". The others were: Richard Greer (#67), Cedric Ogbuehi (#71) and Taylor Pearson (#77).
Josh Reed makes a leaping interception in the end zone.
Defensive lineman LaChris Anyiam flattens a Wildcat. LaChris was named a Player of the Game in three categories: Defense, Defensive Big Play and Bubble (Big Hit).

The Eagles easily beat McKinney Boyd 42-0 Friday night. The game was obviously pretty one sided as Allen had big play after big play. Quarterback Matt Brown passed for five touchdowns. Wide receiver Alex Pastor caught two touchdown passes. Allen backup quarterback Tanner Gibson scored the last touchdown in the 4th quarter. The defense lead by Cory Jackson and Jason Butler shut out the Boyd Offense.
Jeremy Reeves returns a kickoff.
Sr. Wide receiver Marcus Thomas make a good gain after hauling in a pass.
Jr. Quarterback Matt Brown completes another pass. He was 13 for 14 for 254 yards.
Defensive Player's of the Game Jason Butler (28) and Cory Jackson (98) bring down a McKinney runner. Trivia - Jason Butler's brother Jerrod was a standout at Allen and played for the University of Houston and his sister Jenai is an Eagle trainer. Cory's father is a former football coach at Allen and now coaches at University of Tulsa.
